Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno State has condoled with the Government and people of Jigawa State on the tragic petrol tank explosion that claimed 105 people in Majiya village of Taura LGA of Jigawa.
Zulum in a statement released by his SSA on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, on Thursday, extended condolences to Governor Umar Namadi and the families of affected victims, while praying for the repose of the souls of the departed.
“I am pained by Tuesday’s tank explosion that killed nearly 107 people and injured over 50. I wish to extend our condolences on behalf of the government and people of Borno State to my brother, Governor Umar Namadi.
“While I pray for the repose of the souls of the departed persons, may Almighty Allah give to their families the fortitude to bear the loss and grant quick recovery to those that were injured,” Zulum prayed.
The sad incident occurred when a tanker driver lost control of his vehicle near Khadija University in Majiya village around 12 noon on Tuesday.
