Zulum and Emir of Daura at the wedding fatiha
Gov. Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State was among dignitaries at the wedding fatiha of Dr Zainab, the daughter of prominent businessman, Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal, held in Katsina on Saturday.
A statement from his spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, said the governor attended the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting and the second Presidential Food Systems Coordinating meeting chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja before proceeding to katsina where he was welcomed by Katsina State’s Deputy Governor, Alhaji Farouq Lawan Jobe.
“The wedding fatiha took place at Alhaji Dahiru Mangal Central Mosque at Kofar Kwaya in Katsina town.
“Former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and His Royal Highness, Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouq Umar, stood in as the representatives of the groom and bride, respectively.
In a message to the couple, Governor Babagana Zulum prayed for a happy and blessed marriage,” the statement added.
It listed dignitaries who graced the event to include former Senate President, Alhaji Ahmed Lawan, former Sokoto State governor, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, members of the National Assembly, the business community, traditional rulers, and Islamic scholars among other distinguished personalities.
