After the just concluded Kano State APC convention, a lot has been said about the future of the party in the state, and by extension in other parts of the north, but some well-meaning Nigerians and members of the ruling party dispel all such as mere political insinuations.
The chieftain of APC in Kano State, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkareem Zaura (A. A. Zaura) made resounding remarks on all those who feel APC is in Kano State is on the turning point. Mr. Zaura made these remarks through his Media Director, Al-Amin Ciroma, saying that APC is a great party of patriots who came together to ensure a united Nigeria.
He maintained that the ruling party has come a long way adding that if Nigerians can broaden their thoughts, they will recall that it is a great party that has structures everywhere in the country.
According to the statement, Mr. Zaura said, “APC is an assembly of great Nigerians who agree to be united, patriotic and achieve one national focus. So, any simple-minded person can turn their face away from the little disagreements that occurred and face the reality on the ground. After all, we are one big family, and the bottom line is that the process was well done.
“So, in any state of the federation, more especially where APC is taking the lead, we are all one. No matter what and where we disagree, trust me, we shall all come back to achieve these stated objectives I have mentioned earlier.
“And Kano, being the top of the focus of the party in the north, we are contented with what we have, and believe that we shall deliver, and take our mandates to our respective constituencies. So, I am happy with the convention and call on all the family members to follow suit,” he said.
It will be recalled that some few days to the party’s convention, some members led by federal lawmakers have expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, a situation, the Kano State Governor, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje declares illegal for being parallel to the well-organized congress.
