Madzi community of Michika local government area of Adamawa state has conferred on Dr Salihi Ibrahim Ateequ, chairman Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) with a traditional title of Wazirin Madzi.
The District Head of Madzi Alh. Abubakar Mamman , while speaking on why the ADSUBEB chairman was honored, recalled that Dr salihi Ateequ was appointed as Waziri Madzi since 14th April 2014 but was unable to pay to thank you visit due to insurgency-plagued the area until now that Allah has made him a Ph.D holder and chairman ADSUBEB.
Mamman emphasized that ‘’traditional titles are conferred to only persons that distinguished themselves in serving humanity.
‘’ Titles are the mark of honour to whom is due; we recognize your achievements and service to humanity, and it’s our fervent prayer as Waziri which you inherited it from fore fathers through your mother’s lineage, and can help in taking our area and chiefdom to a greater height.
‘’It’s because of your integrity and sincerity and confidence that His Excellency Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri saw that he appointed you to the exalted seat of ADSUBEB chairman.
‘’ We have confidence that you will be good ambassador of this community in dexterity and purposeful leadership.
While appreciating the gesture, the ADSUBEB boss who took time to extolled virtues of the community and Madzi chiefdom said he was at the palace to pay thank-you-visit.
‘’ Your Highness I am here alongside management of the board, relatives, family, friends and other well-wishers to say thank you for this honor conferred on me as Wazirin Madzi.
‘’ Sir, with your support and prayers will do what’s humanly possible to take our areas to greater height,’’ he assured.
The ADSUBEB chairman also used the visit to prevail on Michika communities to continue supporting the present PDP led administration in the state.
‘’ Fintiri’s led administration is posed to bring infrastructural and human developments devoid of primordial inclinations.
‘’ So, to whom much is given, definitely much is expected, I am appealing that we should all rally support for the government to bring support to our areas.
The delegation was also at palace of the District Head of michika 1, Alh. Hamma Muqaddas to appreciate the traditional rulers in the area for their support to Government.
After the thank-you-visit, the new Wazirin Madzi also paid condolence visits to bereaved families and held a meeting with the PDP executives in the area and obtained his membership card.
