As fresh facts continued to emerge in the crisis rocking Taraba state House of Assembly, for now only 9 out of 24 members were alleged to have since signed the impeachment notice against the speaker Abel Peter Diah.
Investigations have revealed that those who signed the impeachment notice were caged in Wukari.
They are Joseph Albasu Kunini Lau constituency; Danladi Mohammed Gwampo, Yorro Constituency; Dr Jedua D Ahmad, Gembu Constituency; Dominic Bukuni, Ardo Kola Constituency; and Capt Douglas Ndatse Yahaya Donga constituency.
Others are John Kizito Bonzena, Zing Constituency; Mohammed Abdulkarim, Ibbi constituency; Mohammed Gayam, Gashaka constituency; and Hammanadama Abdullah from Bali 2 constituency.
Already according to sources five APC lawmakers have resolved to join the group of nine to garner the required majority, ” …and you know with N10 million naira for each the temptation for such amount is irresistible,” an insider.
The impeccable source added that, ” the five APC members had asked the ruling PDP and sponsors of the impeachment to garner 3 other members plus the first nine so if you add the 5 from the minority side , quorum will be formed and two- third 2/3 majority will impeach the embattled speaker, ” the source added.
The lawmakers earlier attempted to convene a sitting but rescinded on their plans after some media broke the story.
It was alleged that the plan to impeach the speaker was spearheaded by PDP chairman Victor Bala Kona and Senator Joel Ikenya.
Several Government House sources said the state governor Darius Isiyaku has mobilized over N200m from the State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB to ‘forcefully impeach the speaker.’
A reliable source said the Majority Leader in the House of Assembly, Hon. Joseph Albasu Alkinjo has been tipped to replace the speaker.
