UMTH Conducts Financial Bidding

The management of University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) on Wednesday conducted tender bidding for 2024 capital projects meant to enhance more quality service delivery in the hospital.

The management of University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) on Wednesday conducted tender bidding for 2024 capital projects meant to enhance more quality service delivery in the hospital.

The occasion was presided over by Prof. Sanusi Ibrahim, the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Ahmed Ahijo. 

Speaking at the occasion, Ibrahim noted that technical bidding had already been conducted some days ago by interested companies following the advertising of the contracts in some national newspapers. 

The financial bidding witnessed by various stakeholders including relevant agencies like Code of Conduct Bureau, ICPC and representatives of Civil Society Organizations and media saw the participation of over 10 companies. 

Some of the contracts bidded for include procurement and installation of General Surgical Equipment, General Medical Equipment, Paediatric Equipment, Basic Equipment for Heart Center,  Theatre Equipment,  Basic Interventional Radiology Centre Hospital Furnishing and Establishment of Interventional Radiology Simulation.

Others are that of procurement and installation of interventional Radiology Fittings, Renovation and equipping of Hospital Wards, Procurement of inter-disciplinary medical equipment and Training of Clinical and non-clinical staff.

In his remarks after the bidding, Idris Mohammed Sambo of the Code of Conduct Bureau, lauded the transparent level of the bidding and tasked companies that would emerge successful to deliver according to specification.

Mr Eleojo Benjamin Onogu who spoke on behalf of companies that participated in the bidding, expressed satisfaction with the conduct.

He thanked UMTH for giving them the opportunity to participate and assured their commitment to deliver quality job for the hospital which he said was known for quality services.
