Tinubu’s new appointments: Sen Girei congratulates Ribadu, others
~Hails president’s vibrant, purposeful leadership
An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Adamawa State, Sen Abubakar Girei has felicitated with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s new appointees saying that their appointment at this critical point in Nigeria’s drive towards socio-economic renaissance is a step in the right direction.
Girei equally hails president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his vibrant, purposeful and effective leadership noting that with the courageous and meticulous leadership of the president, Nigeria will sooner than later get out of its maze of socio-economic malaise.
The president who was sworn in on 29th May 2023, virtually hits the ground running from day one earning him the sobriquet “Baba go fast” a new approbatory catch phrase in Nigerian political stratosphere.
The president has taken tough measures and policies which his predecessors failed to take including the removal of the egregious and troubling subsidy that has become a conduit through which unscrupulous Nigerians shortchange the nation, and addressing the multiple exchange rates that exposed Nigeria’s economy to series of blatant abuses.
He noted that with such zeal and valiant disposition, Nigeria will get it right under the able stewardship of president Bola Tinubu.
Girei who also hailed the appointments noted that all of the appointees are highly accomplished personalities in their different fields of endeavor adding that through the appointments the president has succeeded in putting square pegs in square holes.
He particularly lauded the president for appointing a consummate technocrat, an accomplished administrator and a thoroughbred politician, Sen George Akume as the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) noting that with the appointment of such versatile persons, Nigeria is surely on the path of national rebirth.
He urged the new appointees to discharge their given responsibilities with patriotic fervour, diligence and commitment so as to prove to the president and Nigerians that their appointments is not in vein.
He particularly extolled the patriotic demeanor of the newly appointed National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu, a younger brother whom he said has done the country proud and will continue to do the country proud.
“I have no slightest doubt that my brother, Malam Nuhu Ribadu will do us proud as he did to Nigerian in the past. I must acknowledge Mr. President’s courage in appointing people with proven integrity and excellent track record of service to the fatherland.
“I have no doubt with Nuhu Ribadu’s vast experience in the security, diplomatic and intelligence circles coupled with his no nonsense stance against corruption, the social insecurity currently bogging down our nation will sooner than later become history.
“I also wish my other brothers, including the newly appointed service chiefs, the police and customs bosses successful tenures in office. It is our fervent hope that all the appointees will live up to the dream of Mr. President in rebranding Nigeria as the bastion of the rule of law and the true giant of Africa in the true sense of the word,” Sen. Girei said.
