National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu may have reunited with former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar after the 2019 Presidential election in which the former Lagos State Governor supported President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former Vice President who is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP shared photos of the wedding on his Twitter handle showed off Tinubu among other political leaders who attended the wedding Fatiha.
Also conspicuous at the wedding was former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the current Governor Abdullahi Ganduje while Governor Ahmadu Fintiri from Atiku’s home state of Adamawa led a strong delegation to the event.
Atiku who only returned to the country from Dubai barely a week ago after about 9 months tweeted “On behalf of my family, I express my deepest appreciation to all leaders, associates and friends who came from far and near to grace the wedding Fatiha of my son, @AliyuAtiku to Fatima Ribadu in Abuja”.
The last time Atiku and Tinubu were seen hand in gloves after the 2019 Presidential election was in January this year at the wedding of Ribadu’s son in Abuja which was also attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The attention at the time was however on Osinbajo and Tinubu following speculations about crack in their long time relationship at the time.
On August 30, 2020, report has it that the APC National Leader visited Vice President Osinbajo.
It will be recalled that Atiku Abubakar was the presidential candidate in 2007 on the platform of the defunct Action Congress, AC which later became the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN that merged with other political parties to form the APC. Atiku largely failed to get APC’s presidential ticket in 2015 at the party’s convention in Lagos due to the role played by Tinubu to ensure the emergence of Buhari as the standard bearer.
Atiku and Tinubu were both members of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in the aborted Third Republic.
