Former Commissioner of Information and Strategy in Adamawa, Ahmad Sajoh, has commended the National Assembly for the timely passage of 2020 budget
Sajoh said the measure was a positive move that would facilitate positive developments.
“The steady passage of the 2020 Budget by the National Assembly and the return to the January to December Budget circle is further demonstration of the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to propel Nigeria to the Next Level of Progress and Development.
” One of the key benefits of this process is that all our partners both National and Internationally will now have greater confidence in the ability of Government to meet it’s fiscal responsibilities.
“In addition, capital projects such as roads that are usually stalled at the peak of the rainy season when previous budgets are passed will now pick up easily because the budgets circle begins during the dry season,” Sajoh said.
He also explained that agriculture being one of the priority area of the government would enjoy steady releases within periods that allow for proper planning before the onset of the planting season.
Sajoh noted that a steady and stable budget circle would provide investor confidence, enhance “Ease of Doing Business” and impact positively on both micro and macro economic development.
“President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly deserve commendation for this achievement.
“This has also proved beyond all reasonable doubts that the past leadership of the National Assembly truly acted in a manner that sought to undermine if not sabotage the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari,” Sajoh said.
