A Taraba State-based business mogul, Chief Uche Obi, has raised the alarm over threats to his life as well as that of his wife and children.
Obi, who on Friday regained his freedom from his abductors, after being held hostage for about five days, alleged that a top chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state facilitated his abduction.
Narrating what he went through in the hands of his abductors whom according to him compelled him to signed some documents, he urged President Mohammed Buhari and the Inspector General of Police to as a matter of urgency come to his rescue as the person said to have been behind his ordeals is bent on terminating his life and that of his family members.
“For the five days they held me, hostage, I was blindfolded. Even when they brought the documents for me to signed, they did not allow me to see it.”
Obi, who said they threatened to eliminate him should he refused to append his signatures on the said document, said he was left with no choice than to comply.
When reached for comment, the state police command, through its Public Relations Officer, David Misal, said the command is not aware of the involvement of police in the said exercise.
” Investigation is still on,” said the spokesman as he assured that the command would follow all legitimate paths to bring to book all the perpetrators.
