Savannah Sugar firm staff school Mark’s 40th anniversary

The Savannah Sugar Company Staff School in Numan, Adamawa State is celebrating 40 years since its establishment in 1979.

The event which held in the weekend at the premises of the school attracted former students and parents from across the country.
Addressing the gathering, the school’s Principal, Grace Ella said the school which started with primary school had introduced secondary, nursery and kindergarten sections.
Acknowledging the contribution of the alumni, parents and management of the Savannah Sugar Company, Mrs Ella called for support of stakeholders to accomplish the Computer Laboratory project which had been stalled for some time.
“It is the computer laboratory which we conceived for some time now and we have actually acquired some units of computers but has yet to come to fruition due to non availability of a laboratory. I appeal to you to lend support in this project.”, he said.
In his address, the Alumni President, Capt. Femi Iyanda represented by Tabitha Julius commended the contribution of the school to all sectors of the Nigerian economy, saying its alumni were occupying various leadership positions in public and private sectors.
” This school has produced generations of bright scholars and outstanding community leaders. We are proud to say you are the lions of Savannah Staff Primary School, we have doctors, engineer, nurses, politicians, journalists, nurses, teachers, architects, bankers etc including many of you seated here”, he stated.
The alumni chairman also disclosed that the school was planning for a reunion of old students scheduled for December this year.
