Ribadu extols traditional institution over peace, stability
The National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu has extolled the traditional institution for its commitment towards the entrenchment of peace, unity and stability of the nation.
Ribadu made the remark during a courtesy call on the three first class traditional rulers of Bachama, Lunguda and Batta kingdoms to felicitate with them during the Christmas festivity.
The NSA who was represented by the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Barr Idris Shuaibu pledged continuous cooperation to the revered institution in order to ensure the attainment of peace, unity and progress in the country.
“The NSA wanted to come and pay this homage to you personally but the exigencies of his office could not allow him to do so.
“He asked us to represent him and felicitate with you on the occasion of this year’s Christmas and to wish you a happy new year in advance.
“The NSA also directed us to convey his words of appreciation to you for the roles you are playing at entrenching peace, unity and understanding amongst our populace. He specifically pledged to continue to work hand in hand with the traditional institutions to achieve peace and development.
“As the bastion of sanctity and morality, the traditional institution will continue to play a significant role in the evolution of our nation and we shall accord you all the cooperation you needed” Ribadu said.
In their separate remarks, the three first class traditional rulers, Hama Bachama, HRM, Dr. Daniel Shagah Ismail, Kpawo Nomwe, Gilongo Diya, Hama Bata, Homun Alhamdu Gladson Teneke and Kwandi Nunguraya, Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda II thanked the NSA for the unparalleled gesture.
The traditional rulers who vouched for Nuhu’s integrity, competence, exposure and network expressed optimism that with such a personality in the lead of the national security architecture, there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
They in turn pledged to continue to support government programs and policies and reitrated their resolve to champion the cause of peace in their domains for the overall development of Nigeria.
