Rep. Ahmed Satomi of Jere Federal Constituency of Borno State on Monday distributed about three trailers of free fertiliser to his constituents.
Flaging-off the distribution in Jere, Satomi said that the responsibility of providing succor for the current hardship being experienced should not be left to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu alone.
Satomi said that Tinubu has been doing his part in putting some measures that needed some patients to start yielding results.
He said that what was needed now from Nigerians is steady prayers for him to succeed in his good intentions for Nigeria.
“What is needed from us, particularly elected and appointed officials including well to do individuals in the community is to play our role in complementing government efforts in our own ways to ameliorate the hardship.
“For instance, as a lawmaker now on recess, I am using the opportunity to educate my people on the need for peace at this critical time.
“I also present to you this free fertiliser for genuine farmers in our communities. The support for food items from me is also on the way under the community food outreach.
“This is not the first time I am doing this and will continue to do it as your representative and as a philanthropist,” Satomi said.
He lauded the commitment of Governor Babagana Zulum administration in Borno for its interventions in people oriented projects in the constituency, and urged for sustenance to give more citizens a sense of belonging.
Many beneficiaries who spoke, lauded the gesture and urged other lawmakers to emulate him.
“He is a large scale farmer who knew the value of agriculture, hence we are not surprise about his sustain support to agriculture that matter most to our communities.
“We are grateful to him and urged him to continue the good work,” Ibrahim Abubakar, a beneficiary said.
