
A community based NGO, Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, has trained some staff of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) on the role expected of them in the implementation of Transitional Justice for lasting peace in the state.
In her opening remarks at the training on Tuesday in Maiduguri, the Executive Director of the foundation, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin, said the training provided with support of FCDO, educated the workers from relevant ministries on what is expected of them in ensuring survivors-centered approach in the implementation of the transitional Justice.
In his remarks, the facilitator of the training who is also the Vice Chancellor of Borno State University (BOSU), Prof. Haruna Dlakwa, said the training which involved group work, would extract commitment from the participants on how their respective MDAs would assist in pushing programmes on transitional Justice and reconciliation in Borno State.

Speaking to journalists after the training, a participant from the Ministry of Women Affairs, Modu Shehuri, and Zainab Bashir from Ministry of Information and Strategy, said the training had provided them the needed knowledge and zeal for more commitment in the implementation of transitional Justice.
Also speaking to journalists, the Programme Manager of the foundation, Shettima Mustapha, who reiterated the commitment of the foundation to building peace in Borno, said similar training has been provided to other stakeholders like media practitioners, community and religious leaders among others.
