PLWD in Adamawa organize 53rd birthday bash for Bishop Dami Mamza

People Living With Disability (PLWD) in Adamawa State have today organized a birthday bash for the Bishop of Yola Catholic diocese and chairman of Adamawa State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Most Rev. Bishop Dami Mamza.

The solemn occasion which took place at Adamawa State secretariat of the Amalgamated Union of People Living With Disability was greeted with a chorus of tributes and rendition of accolades by the PLWD who described the cleric as a man with deep seated compassion and heart of gold.

Some renowned leaders of the PLWD who took turns to pour encomiums on Mamza said he has no equal in terms of empathy and milk of human kindness as his spiritedness and show of compassion are unprecedented.

While thanking the cleric for his numerous assistance to the PLWD, a leader of PLWD, Comrade Mohammed Toungo said the gesture of Dami Mamza to the PLWD is unprecedented in the history of the state as no single individual has touched their lives like the man of God.

He said Mamza has built houses, bought vehicles, give employment and scholarship to a number of PLWD.

He noted that people with disability can’t thank Mamza enough for his numerous gestures toward them.

Also speaking John Anthony, Mama Ruth, Abdullahi Tsoho and Baba Abdullahi all commended the Bishop for extending olive branch to them.

They appreciated the Bishop for carrying everyone alone irrespective of religious or any other difference as he treats all human beings with utmost dignity and kindness.

They prayed God to elongate the life of the cleric for continued service to humanity.

While responding, Bishop Dami Mamza thanked PLWD for their camaraderie, show of love and spiritedness.

He said this year’s birthday is the best he ever celebrated for the rare gesture accorded him by the PLWD and pledged to reciprocate the gesture in due course.

Mamza said he has a special place for people living with disability as such he ensured that the CAN and Catholic secretariats he built were friendly to the PLWD adding that in the same vein, he also employed some of them.

He also pledged to continue to pursue the course of the PLWD adding that he is currently studying their plight in other to give his robust contributions towards resolving some of their challenges.

Mamza donated the sum of N500,000 to them just as he urged government to do more to alleviate their suffering.
