Participants vow to sustain Fintiri’s legacies, deepen Inclusive dev at Adamawa summit
Participants at the just-concluded Forward Adamawa Summit have reaffirmed their commitment to consolidate the gains recorded under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and transform them into a mass movement for inclusive progress across Adamawa State.
The summit, convened by the Office of the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor, Victor Dogo brought together government officials, traditional and religious leaders, political actors, captains of industry, development partners, civil society groups, and youths from all parts of the state.
According to the final communiqué issued at the end of the event, participants engaged in constructive deliberations, policy reflections, and training sessions designed to promote civic responsibility, leadership competence, and sustainable governance.
In his keynote address, Dr. Dogo Victor emphasized strategic continuity and collaborative leadership as key to sustaining Adamawa’s development trajectory.
He commended Governor Fintiri for his transformative policies and urged citizens and future administrations to adopt his developmental blueprint as a model for governance.
Speakers at the summit unanimously agreed that “with a leader like Governor Fintiri, Adamawa will never go back but only move forward ever,” stressing the importance of collective support for the governor’s people-centered programs.
A goodwill message from the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), delivered by the representative of the PDP State Chairman, called for political unity across party lines to safeguard ongoing developmental progress and foster peaceful coexistence in the state.
In his address, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, equity, and participatory development.
He assured participants that his government remains focused on deepening reforms in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and security, while empowering youths and women to take active roles in leadership.
After robust deliberations, the participants adopted six major resolutions:
To convert the gains of the Fintiri administration into a people-driven development movement where every citizen becomes a stakeholder.
To establish community ownership structures for public projects, ensuring sustainability beyond political cycles.
To intensify civic education among youths and new voters, promoting the mantra that “Your Vote is Your Voice and Your Life.”
To mainstream women, youths, and persons with disabilities in leadership and governance structures.
To strengthen feedback mechanisms between government and citizens, promoting transparency and mutual trust and to make the Forward Adamawa Summit an annual event for reviewing progress and refining governance strategies.
