The Organised Labour in Borno State has given reason for the continuous delay in the payment of October salaries to civil servants in the state.
A press statement on behalf of the state chapters of NLC and TUC, the State Secretary of NLC, Comrade Umar Chiroma, said the delay was as a result of ongoing production of payment tables, adding that salaries would be paid before the end of the week.
The statement reads:
Fraternal greetings from the leadership of Organized Labour Borno State.
“Arising from the meeting of the minimum wage committee yesterday, it has been confirmed that salaries will be paid before the end of the week.
“The leadership urge workers to exercise patience as the delay
is due to the production of pilot pay table which the technical
team is about concluding.
“The Organized Labour is not of aware percentage salary scale been circulated on the social media, and therefore call on workers not to rely on such information.
“ Lastly we wish to thank all workers for their patience and understanding during this trying moment.
“Thank you,” the statement signed by Chiroma on behalf of NLC and TUC chairmen dated October 30 concluded.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports said some workers have started receiving their salary alerts.
