The NYSC Borno State has joined it’s counterparts across the 36 States and the FCT in organizing the 2021 NYSC Management/Corps Employers workshop.
The workshop with the theme: “Optimizing the NYSC / Corps Employers Partnership for National Development in the Context of New Normal”, was designed to provide an avenue where the stakeholders brainstorm on ideas that would enhance the relationship between managers of the scheme and Corps Employers with a view to strengthen corps welfare, security, monitoring and rile expectations among others
In his welcome address,the Chairman , Maiduguri Municipal Council, Hon. Ali Umara Bolori represented by the Council Secretary , Alh. Abubakar Abdurrahman enjoined the participants to take advantage of the workshop to update their knowledge and deliberate on critical issues that would effectively and efficiently enhance the operations of the scheme in the state.
Bolori appreciated the State Coordinator for a purposeful leadership that rejigged the operation of the scheme in the State.
In his keynote address, the Director- General of NYSC, Brig. General Shuaibu Ibrahim, informed the forum that the workshop was organised to generate ideas that would enable the scheme continue to achieve its mandate despite COVID – 19, prevailing security situation and other challenges.
Ibrahim charged participants to deliberate on critical issues of interest that would chart ways forward inline with the aim of the workshop.
“In fulfilment of its objectives, the NYSC is promoting national unity and accelerated socio-economic development of the nation as well as instilling in our youths a tradition of industry at work and of patriotic and loyal services to Nigeria amongst other activities.
“The achievement of these and other objectives can only be sustained through the collective efforts of all stakeholders, including the managers of Corps members,” the Director General stressed.
