The Borno Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has handed over recovered vandalized cables and other electricity items to management of Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC).
Speaking at the ceremony in Maiduguri on Thursday, the Borno Commandant of of the corps, Mr Musa Farouk said the items comprising armoured cable, wire and Feeder Pillar Box were recovered from the suspects still at large around CBN quarters and Ramat Polytechnic.
Faruk reiterated the commitment of the command to continue to contain the activities of vandals in the state and urged the public to always provide timely security information to the command.
Responding on behalf of YEDC, the Business Manager of YEDC Kanem Business Unit, Maiduguri, Engr. Hussaina Danjuma lauded NSCDC for its role in protecting critical national assets and urged them to sustain the good work.
Danjuma raised concern over the incident of vandalism in the state and reiterated the commitment of YEDC to partner with stakeholders like NSCDC to contain the situation.
