A national NGO,, the Nigeria Patriotic Youth Against Corruption and Transparency Initiative (NPYACTI) has honoured the Borno State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Nura Umar with Integrity Award.
Presenting the award in Maiduguri on Thursday, the National Coordinator of NPYACTI, Amb. Godiya Adams lauded Umar for his integrity and selfless service.
Adams said the organisation formed to educate and enlighten youth on selfless service would be willing to collaborate with the NYSC in promoting unity, good governance and selfless service to the nation.
“We want to assure you that Nigerian patriotic youth against corruption and transparency Initiative are strongly in support of you and your activities are strongly in support of you and your activities and shall always stand by you.
“Having on the first note seen you as one of the few remaining fathers whom has found satisfaction in human and youth development, you have distinguished yourself from others by setting a pace for excellence, ” Adams said.
In his remarks, the Borno NYSC Coordinator, Nura Umar who thanked the organisation for the honour, said the measure would ginger him to do more.
Umar said NYSC was established to promote national unity and promote youth integration.
He said the scheme inculcate discipline into the youths who are the future leaders, adding that the positive impact of the scheme is being felt in all sectors in states across the country including Borno despite the insurgency.
