Notorious Shila Boys escape death in Yola , as their Keke Napep Got Burned

Notorious youth thugs, popularly known as ‘Yan Shila’ (Shila boys) had on Sunday evening escaped death by mob  after they  attacked and snatched a lady’s bag at the A A Lawal junction in Jimeta-Yola, the Adamawa state capital.

 

The Shila Boys who were trying to escape with their tricycle tumbled as they got obstructed by a moving vehicle. The Boys alighted the tricycle and ran into one of the streets as angry youths burnt down the tricycle and tried chasing after squad.

 

The thugs, mostly teenagers are specialized in the snatching of handsets, pick-pocketing, raping of underage girls and other social vices operate in different parts of the towns of Jimeta and Yola, terrifying people with local weapons such as knives, machetes and cutlasses.

 

The Shila Boys were allegedly supported by some politicians used to carry out dirty jobs which had been a torn on their flesh, ‘’they are now holding the inhabitants of the state capital cities at ransom.

 

“These Shila Boys are also dealers in hard drugs, go about with weapons to use to threaten residents who might want to refuse to handover their valuables.

‘’If care is not taking, Yan shila are another Boko Haram in making, ” Baba Habu a resident laments.

He further recalled that, ’’not long ago, attacked and nearly killed a 30 year old carpenter, Mallam Yahya in Jimeta at Unguwan Tana.’’

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state police command, Abubakar Othman who confirmed the incident explained though he was yet to get details at the time of sending this report.

 

It could be recalled that the hoodlums had recently  went on rampage and killed three persons in a reprisal attack in Jambutu, a suburb of Yola, Adamawa State capital.
