The Northern Youths Leaders Forum, (NYLF) has vowed to work assiduously through awareness and mobilisation of Electorate in producing a Nigeria’s president not of southern or Northern extraction come 2023 general elections.
National President of the Forum, Comrade Elliot Afiyo made the vow at a press conference in Yola, Friday lamenting that the country seems to be sinking as a result of multiple challenges facing it.
Comrade Afiyo said the Forum observed with dismay the way indices of bad governance are manifesting in all ramifications by the day noting that there is urgent need for patriots and advanced citizens to come together in rescuing the nation.
“It is a general and public knowledge that our nation is sinking and there is every need for patriots and Advanced citizens to come together to rescue the Nation.
“We should not be distracted, discouraged or despair because of people that are identifying with or conspirators because of a pot of porridge.We will surely overcome in 2023 by God’s grace”.Afiyo stated.
On the recent defection of Femi Fani Kayode (FFK) from PDP to APC,the Forum acknowledged his constitutional right to change political platform but viewed it as FFK is pursuing something or something is pursuing him.
Comrade Afiyo expressed exception to FFK’s claim that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state and two others will soon decamp to APC insisting that Gov.Mohammad is not contemplating leaving PDP.
“We want to state clearly without mincing words that Senator Bala Mohammed has not and will never defect to APC and also,he has never at anytime discussed the issue of defection with FFK.
“Senator Bala Mohammed is a Nationalist who always placed National interest above his personal interest and no amount of humiliation of dark forces will make him defect to APC”.Afiyo clarified.
