The Commissioner of Police in Bauchi Mr Sani Ahmadu has warned hoodlums and criminal elements to steer clear of the state or face the wrath of the law.
Ahmadu gave the warning when he visited the press center of The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bauchi Council Tuesday
He said a total war has been declared against the hoodlums and other criminals “we have a very detailed report that we had studied to force them out of the state,” he said.
“We have made tactical arrangement of our men to flush the criminals out of the state, Several operations are going to be carried out, and already the process has begun, so we are assuring the people of their safety.
“We want to make the state safer and more secured more than before. We are here to serve the people of the state and we are here to secure all the political, economic and social institutions,” He said
The Police boss also called on politicians to warned their wards and supporters against coming to inauguration venue with arms and dangerous weapons.
He said police would not take it lightly with anybody found with any form of weapons on 29 May at the venue of the inauguration. “ I am calling on miscreants and hoodlums to have a rethink and stay away from the venue please,” he said.
He assured to partner with Journalists to Foster peaceful co-existence and development of the state.
Mr Ahmadu therefore assured the state of his commitment towards reducing criminal activities in the state to the barest minimum.
In his remarks, Ibrahim Mallamgoje the NUJ Bauchi council chairman commended the Commissioner of Police for the honour and recognising the relevant of the journalism profession.
He assured that journalists would accord all the necessary cooperation to the police and get rid of criminality and promote peace in the state.
