The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has commenced one-week training on security consciousness for staff in the region.
The commission’s Managing Director, Mr Mohammed Alkali, said while inaugurating the training in Maiduguri on Monday that the training is apt, in view of security
challenges in the region.
Represented by the Head of Administration, Mr Abdulkadir Kadai, he said that the training was organised in collaboration with other security agencies comprising Police, NSCDC and DSS to keep staff more alert.
He added that “at the end of the training, staff would be more enlightened about security issues around them and take precautionary measures at home and places of work.”
Mr Musa Farouk, the Commander of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Borno lauded the initiative by NEDC and urged other organisations to emulate.
Farouk, who was represented by Chief Superintendent Bukar A. Bukar, spoke on comprehensive security tips on safety.
He described the training as timely, and urged participants to pay attention for maximum benefit.
Some of the participants that spoke, also lauded the initiative which they said was timely at this critical time
