NEDC Assures Orphans On Education Support

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has assured orphans pursuing education under its sponsorship of sustain support.

The Board Chairman of NEDC, Retired Maj.-Gen. Paul Tarfa, gave the assurance while addressing over 300 orphan students of Command Science Secondary School, Auno, supported by the commission.

Tarfa who urged them to study hard and remain focused in achieving their ambition in life, said he was impressed by their performance.

“I am highly impressed with what I saw and NEDC will do everything we can do to support your education to achieve what to want you want to achieve in life..

“Do not abused your time here, you are among the fortunate ones to be here, use it positively as you look into the future.

“If you are this good at this tender age which you are, you can better imagine what you will be in the future in your chosen career,” Tarfa said.

In his remarks on behalf of the students, the Head Boy of the school, Mustafa Mintar, thanked Federal Government and the commission for intervening positively in their lives through education.

“You have already provided us with what we need, the education and discipline.

“We lacked words to expressed our gratitude but to assure you that we will work hard today towards a successful life tommorow, ” Mintar said.

The NEDC newly reconstituted board members who are touring north east states to assess projects, also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Chinese firm to undertake some critical projects in the zone.
