NDLEA Seeks More Synergy With Military In Borno

The Borno State Commandant of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr Joseph Icha has urged for more synergy between the military and the agency in containing drug abuse and illicit drug  trafficking in the frontline border state.

Icha made the call on Tuesday when he paid an advocacy visit to the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force, North East, Operation Hadin Kai, Maj. Gen. Christopher Musa.

A statement by the spokesman of the NDLEA, Segun Jolaoso, said the visit was to boost the existing among stakeholders in the state.

“During the State Commander’s address, he mentioned the need to seek further synergy between the Military and the National drug law enforcement agency as one of the core purpose of his visit.

“On the other hand, the Theatre Commander, Major General Musa, heartily welcomed the Commander and his entourage. He also pledged more support to the agency, who are on a quest to rid the State of illicit substances.

“He noted that, the dangers posed by hard drugs are dangerous, hence the Theatre will throw their weight behind NDLEA Borno State command, to ensure the eradication of the scourge.

“Commander Icha later presented Information and communication materials on drug abuse to him for the use of the Theater,” the statement added.
