The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) says it has granted and issued 65 new broadcasting licenses.
This was contained in a statement issued by the commission on Sunday.
The statement said the licenses comprise of 43 new FM radio, eight campus FM radio, one community FM and 13 free-view digital terrestrial televisions.
According to the statement, the Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp were among the 43 companies to have been issued radio licenses.
Others include, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi; Federal Polytechnic Ilaro; Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa; Akwa-Ibom state University; Ambrose Ali University; Temple Gate Polytechnic; Audi Gusau Polytechnic and Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic got the campus FM radio broadcasting licenses, ‘’said the statement.
The commission in the statement noted that, the approval was granted by President Muhammadu Buhari.
‘’Successful companies, institutional and communities listed are advised to collect their letters of grant of provisional operating license(s) from the office of the Secretary to the commission,’’ the statement said.
