The Network of Civil Society Organisations in Borno (NECSOB), has consoled Nigerians on hardship experienced over the new Naira notes and urges for more measures to address the problem.
A statement on Saturday signed by the Leader of the Network, Comrade Bulama Abiso, blamed the hardship on wrong timing and poor preparation in the implementation.
It enjoined the public to remain law abiding and carryout their activities within the provisions of the law, adding that currency notes change policy is a common happening across the globe.
It urged the public to embraces the new development and device every legal means necessary that would facilitate their transactions.
It urged commercial centers and public service providers including hospitals to create online payment platforms and POS devices to ease the hardship
It also urged security operatives like DSS and EFCC to intensify effort in bringing sanity into currency related crimes.
“CBN should also make available to the public the daily allocations to commercial Bank branches in every state for accountability.
“Network Providers should also try and upgrade their services to accommodate the abrupt pressure on these facilities.
“Commercial Banks should also upgrade their servers to enable for smooth online transactions.
“We also called on POS operators to deceased from illegal transactions that is exploiting unsuspected members of the public.
“All filling stations should be compliant with the new cashless policy by providing e-payment devices across their dispensing pumps,” the statement read in part.
