The Theatre Commander North East Operation Hadin Kai, Maj. Gen Christopher Musa and other top Officers and men of the Theatre and 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri on Sunday held interdenominational Church service at the Maimalari Cantonment as part of events line up for this year’s Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL).
Speaking to newsmen after the service, Musa who read the message of Chief of Army Staff at the service, said the annual event which is the 159th showed that the Nigerian Army has gone a long way as a stabilization factor in Nigeria.
Musa said that the event is an opportunity for the army to celebrate its achievements as it continue to sacrifice for peace and unity of the nation.
He urged the public for more support to the army in restoring peace for the needed development.
The Theatre Commander said that the army which is now stronger than ever before remain grateful to the Commander in Chief for his support and would continue to remain determined in ending security challenges facing the nation.
Highlights of the occasion is the conduct of special prayers led by the Theatre Commander for the Nation, Mr President, Army, bereaved personnel, the sick and wounded officers and men.
The theme of this year’s NADCEL celebration is ”Repositioning the Nigerian Army in the Joint Operations Environment: A Panacea for Success in Addressing Contemporary Security Challenges”.
