The new Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Sallau Ali, has paid familiarisation visit to Sector 2 Bagasola, Chad.
The during the August 2 visit, Ali commended the troops for the successes recorded in stabilizing the Lake Chad region.
He said that the Task Force would not relent in clearing the remnants of terrorists from the Lake Chad Islands known as “Tumbums”.
The Force Commander urged the troops to remain resolute in their efforts and emphasized the importance of unity among the multinational forces in achieving their common goal.
In his remarks, the Commander Sector 2, Maj. Gen. Mahamat Yousouf Itno, assured the Force Commander of his troops commitment in the ongoing operations.
Itno reiterated his commitment to working closely with other troops from contributing countries to achieve lasting peace and security in the region.
The Force Commander’s visit to the Sector, served as an opportunity to assess the progress made by the troops in combating terrorism and strategizing for way forward.
