A mild drama had ensued in Jalingo, Taraba state capital when some disenchanted youths were reported to have attacked and disrupted sitting of a mobile court for motorists that violate the lockdown orders in Taraba state.
Reports say that the mobile court which sat at the Dobeli bridge along Wukari-Jalingo road at Tella town in Gassol local government area of the state was disrupted a situation that forced presiding judges to scamper for their lives.
‘’The judges, they were three, were beaten by the Youths numbering about twenty and disrupted seating of the court, while the judges had to run into a nearby sugar cane farm to hide.
‘’The few policemen and Nigeria and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) guarding the proceedings of the court also ran away as they could not contain the attackers,’’ an eyewitness confided.
A resident of the area who simply identified herself as Mary also said, ‘’ These irate Youth appeared from nowhere and started beating judges of the mobile court, the youth in their numbers destroyed proceedings papers and other documents before chasing away the judges and other officials as well as money realized during the seating.’’
The police spokesman in Taraba, DSP David Misal confirmed the incident, noting that the issue in Tella, Gassol LGA is an incident where Youth resisted mobile court but the situation was brought under control, adding that the in the area have since commenced manhunt of the irate youths with a view to prosecute them.
