Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa who is the chairman of the PDP panel to conducting the Kogi gubernatorial primary election said he is safe and remain focused in completing his assignment of delivering a popular candidate for the party.
Fintiri in a statement issued Wednesday in Yola by his Director General, Media and Publicity, Mr Solomon Kumangar, said the incident of shooting that occurred in early morning at the venue primary in Lokoja did not forced him to abandoned the assignment as being insinuated in some media.
“We wish to draw the attention of the public to misleading information, being spread in some online/social media to the effect that Adamawa State Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has left Kogi State after the Wednesday morning attack at the venue of the PDP gubernatorial Primaries.
“It bears reassuring, that Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is safe and still in Kogi to complete the national assignment he was given by his party and no amount of threat will deter him from doing so.
“As chairman of the panel set up to conduct the PDP Gubernatorial Primaries, it has been attested that he has so far conduct the exercise in a free and fair manner.
“Any further details regarding the exercise will be made known as when due,” Kumangar said.
