Mayo Belwa community in Adamawa have on Monday stormed Yola Electricity Distribution (YEDC)Regional, office, to protest the over 45 days black out.
The spokesman of the community Muhammad Bako said for over 45 days the entire town of mayo, has been in darkness due to the power outage been experienced.
Bako , a former chairman of Mayo Belwa local government council noted with concern that,” In the last 45 days of power failure business activities were crippled, residents sleep in darkness, and in an atmosphere of despair.
” We want the YEDC to come to our help out of this problem plauing our community,” he urges.
Responding, the YEDC Area Manager Jimeta,Engr Ismail Bn Aliyu assured that the power will be be restored by Tuesday next week.
He noted that there was a technical problem, just as the central transformer which used to supply electricity in Mayo Belwa had faulted and was taken to Kano for recoiling.
“The power will be restored in Sha Allah next week Tuesday,” he said.
