In order to bring renewed sanity cooperation and order, the national leadership of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has today inaugurated the Adamawa/Taraba caretaker exco of the association.
Adamawa/Taraba exco of IPMAN has been enmeshed in a protracted crisis which resulted in the emergence of two parallel excos.
The situation led the national secretariat of the union to dissolve the two parallel exco Monday and inaugurated a caretaker committee under the leadership of Gidado Hammangari to supervise the conduct of another election.
In his speech, Aminu Adamu, the north east vice chairman of the association lauded the resolve of the national secretariat in bringing unity and cooperation to the Adamawa/Taraba state chapter of the union.
“We are happy for the renewed unity being entrenched by the national secretariat. I believe the fracas in the association has been nipped in the bud with the inauguration of this caretaker exco,” he said.
Also speaking, the national secretary of the association, Danladi Pasali said it was heartwarming that the challenges facing the Adamawa/Taraba State branch has been resolved.
He noted that it was unfortunate that in the whole of Nigeria, only the chapter has parallel exco.
Pasali said that piqued by the development, the national secretariat deemed it right to dissolve the two parallel exco as provided by the constitution of the association.
He urged members to give the exco the needed support in order to conduct free and fair election.
He noted that it is imperative to resolve the fracas facing the chapter because of the new challenges being encountered as a result of the passage of the PIA.
Also speaking, the National PRO of the association and Sarkin Hausawa Zazzau, Yakubu Sulaiman thanked the national secretariat for the move to entrench unity adding that nothing can be achieved in an atmosphere of conflict and distrust.
He said the quagmire should serve as a huge lesson to all members calling on them never to allow such distraction in the association.
Sulaiman urged the caretaker committee to extend olive branch to all members of the association for a smooth and hitch free transition.
Also commenting, Chief Magistrate Dimas E Gwama shortly after swearing in the new exco charged them to imbibe the fear of God in their dealings urging them to be fair to all manner of people.
In his response, the new caretaker chairman, Gidado Hammangari pledged to be fair to all and sundry in his dealings.
He called on all members to accord him the needed cooperation so as to conduct a hitch free election that will usher the next exco.
