Maj. Gen. Christopher Musa, the Theatre Commander Joint Taskforce North East “Operation Hadin Kai”, has called for more commitment from soldiers in dealing with remnants of insurgents in north east.
Musa made call while addressing troops of 5 Brigade in Damasak town the headquarters of Mobbar local government area bordering Niger Republic.
Musa who promised special promotion for soldiers that distinguished themselves in the fight against insurgency, said promotion and other rewards in the field is always based on performance.
The commander noted that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Faruk Yahaya who is conversant with the operational situation of the North East as a former theatre commander has provided all the resources needed to prosecute and end the fight against insurgency, hence the need to reciprocate by using the equipments for maximum result.
While emphasising the need for troops to be professional in thier conduct, Musa tasks commanders at all levels in the theatre to be good managers of men and resources entrusted to them for the prosecution of the war.
The theatre commander also addressed Senior None Commissioned Officers (SNCO) in the brigade and urged them to justify the rank given to them by having full grips and control over their subordinates.
He said that thier deployment to serve in the North East was a previledge that placed them ahead of their colleagues outside North East.
