The Borno Government has announced the postponement of Saturday sanitation exercise to enable the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conduct mock voter accreditation exercise.
The announcement was made on Friday by the Borno State Environmental Protection Agency (BOSEPA).
“This is to announce to the general public, particularly the residents of Maiduguri and its environs, that the monthly sanitation exercise which was earlier scheduled to hold tomorrow Saturday, 4th February, 2023, has been postponed.
“This is to allow Independent National Electoral Commission to embark on mock Voter Accreditation exercise to test the functionality of the Bio-Modal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS) ahead of the 2023 general election in the state.
“The agency equally urge the general public to keep their environment clean,” the statement read in part.

According to the Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity of INEC in Maiduguri, Malam Shuaibu Ibrahim, stakeholders, including political parties, Civil Society Organisations and Non-Governmental Organisations and the public, are invited to monitor the exercise.
The exercise is expected to commence from 8.30 a.m to 2.30 p.m.
