The Gwoza Youth Community Watch Forum Youth Forum has urged Federal Government and relevant security agencies to intensify better strategies to end insurgency in Borno State.
The forum made the call Friday at a press briefing in Maiduguri.
Mohammed Hamman Saleh, the Chairman of the forum who read the forum’s position to newsmen, lauded the military and other security agencies for degrading the insurgents and urged for more actions to ride Borno which according to military remain the only state in north east that is still experiencing sporadic attacks from Boko Haram members.
The forum condemned the recent attacks by the insurgents on Gov. Babagana Zulum convoy, adding that such attacks showed the desperation of the terrorists to stage a come back that needed to be dealt with decisively by the security agencies.
The forum lauded the ongoing relocation of communities displaced by the insurgency to their recovered ancestral homes by the state government, and urged security agencies to complement the development by ensuring adequate security for the returnees.
The forum also urged the people of Borno to be prayerful and support all government efforts to restore peace and normalcy in all parts of the state.
