Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno has inspected ongoing State Government projects in border Local Government Area of Gamboru/Ngala.
According to a statement on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Mallam Isa Gusau, the projects inspected included Gamboru International Cattle Market and Police station.
Others are: Vocational Training Centre, Central Primary school, Higher Islamic College, Customs and Immigration offices and barracks.
Zulum said the projects at the border area would not only give the people a sense of belonging but also enhanced trans-border trade with neighbouring countries of Chad and Cameroon.
“I am here to assess facilities that are being constructed by the Borno State Government, most especially those that will put in place the civil authorities and enhance trans-border trade,” Zulum said.
While at the International Cattle Market, Zulum approved additional shopping malls, animal stands and an abattoir.
He also directed the construction of additional departments and the recruitment of tutors for the Vocational Training Center in Gamboru town.
The governor who interacted with teachers during the visit also approved the construction of housing estate for teachers.
The governor has during the visit opened the Gamboru Central Mosque where he observed Jumma’at prayer.
Those who accompanied the governor on the visit included the Special Adviser on Special projects, Engr. Ibrahim Idriss; Borno Coordinator of of World Bank’s Multi Crises Recovery Project (MCRP), Babazanna AbdulKarim; and the Technical Specialist at MCRP, Ali Umar Bashir.
Others are the General Manager, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), Engr Mohammed Musa, and the Director General of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr Mohammed Barkindo.
