Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno has flagged-off the N11billion construction and rehabilitation of some township roads in Maiduguri.
Speaking at the ceremony, Zulum said the measure was in fulfilment of his campaign promises to the people.
Zulum urged residents to bear with government any inconvenience to experience because of the construction work, adding that his administration would continue to do it best through proper management of scarce resources in delivering people oriented projects.
Some motorists and residents who spoke lauded the project which they said would ease movement in the city.
They also urged government to consider paying compensation where necessary.
Some of the projects include dualization of Ahmadu Bello Way, Shehu Sanda, Mogaram and Lafiya roads.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Engr. Ali Lawan conducted the Governor round the project sites within the city.
