
Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno State has commissioned MCRP Lodges in Bayo and Kwaya-kusar Local Government Areas of the state as part of measures to strengthen the restoration of civil authority and sustain service delivery.
The lodges are part of the numerous government newly built and equipped lodges in an initiative spearheaded by the Ministry for Reconstruction with support from the World Bank’s Multisectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP AF), aimed to bolster governance and provide essential services to the people of Borno.

The lodges were commissioned by Gov. Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe on the special invitation of his host, Gov. Zulum of Borno State to sustain good neighborliness.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Ali Umar Bashir, the Technical Coordination Specialist of MCRP, expressed gratitude to Gov. Zulum for the timely completion and commissioning of the lodges which he said would play a pivotal role in local governance.
“These lodges will serve as a vital resource for restoring civic authority, enabling local leaders to effectively engage with their communities and deliver essential services,” Bashir said.

Bashir also commended the contractor for the quality of work done emphasizing the importance of such projects in the ongoing recovery efforts in Borno State.
According to him, the lodges are not mere buildings but symbols of authority, hope and commitment to rebuilding the state after years of crisis.
In his remarks, Gov. Zulum reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of citizens through various reconstruction and other recovery initiatives.
He tasked the people of Bayo and Kwaya-Kusar LGAs to take ownership of the lodges, stressing the need for proper maintenance and utilization to ensure that they serve their intended purpose for years to come.

Residents of the local government areas who expressed satisfaction with the projects, expressed optimism that the lodges would enhance governance and service delivery to the areas.
They lauded the crucial steps being taken by the administration in restoring normalcy, rebuilding trust in local governance, and empowering communities.
