Dauda Iliya
Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno State has approved the appointment of the Borno State Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Dauda Iliya, as his official spokesman and Special Adviser on Media.
The appointment is contained in a statement on Friday by the SSA to the governor on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi.
Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the appointment of Alh Dauda Iliya as official spokesperson and Special Adviser on Media.
“The appointment follows the demise of Mallam Isa Gusau who until his death in February 2024 served as the spokesperson for Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
“Dauda Iliya is currently the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Borno State Chapter. He hails from Kwaya-Kusar Local Government Area in southern part of Borno State.
“He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Linguistics from the University of Maiduguri and later obtained his master’s in Mass Communications from the same University in 2024. He has attended numerous professional courses and training.
“He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists and the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters.
“Until his appointment, Dauda Iliya worked as a reporter for Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, covering Borno State.
“Zulum conveys his congratulations to the appointee and urges him to utilise his wealth of experience in service to Borno State”, the statement added.
