Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has send the name of Bar. Afraimu Jingi, to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
The House after listening to the letter of nomination read at the Monday plenary by the Speaker, Aminu Iya-Abbas, unanimously supported a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Hammantukur Yettisuri, for Jingi who hail from Fufore Local Government to appear before the house on Tuesday for screening.
The house at the plenary also passed a resolution mandating Adamawa Government to provide relief materials to victims of latest Yola flood disasters that led to several death and the destruction properties worth millions of Naira.
The resolution was passed following a request to that effect moved by member representing Yola North Constituency, Hamidu Sajoh.
A bill for a law to establish State Emergency Management Committee in all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state sponsored by Ayuba Joseph representing Michika constituency passed first reading at the plenary.
The Speaker directed the Chairman House Committee on Rules, Business, Ethics and Privileges to schedule the bill for second reading during any convenient legislative day.
