In an effort to boost the welfare of officers and men of the Nigerian Army, the Ag. General Officer Commanding 3 Division Jos, Brigadier General Bello Mohammed has commissioned six boreholes, eight blocks of ten families corporal quarters in 23 Brigade Command, Yola
General Mohammed disclosed that his command’s philosophy is centered on Training, troops morale through excellent welfare packages and stakeholders cooperation, as the issues of welfare of personnel have continued to receive the attention it deserves.
” It is no longer news that the quarters of the Nigerian Army here in Yola is nothing to write home about, as most of the blocks are dilapidated and not conducive for officers and men most especially in this raining season,” he said.
The Ag. General Officer Commanding 3 Division was appointed some few months ago and was able to swing into action by assisting the 23 Brigade Command Yola to upgrade some of the dilapidated blocks and make portable water available.
The gesture is not only for the 23 Brigade Command, the GOC 3 Division has extended it to all the Brigade Commands under his Division, as that will give the officers and men the conducive atmosphere to work for the interest of Nigeria.
General Mohammed says the welfare of Nigerian soldiers under 3 Division is his topmost priority and will not relent in doing what will give the officers and men a good working environment that will give them sense of belonging.
He however appealed to Nigerians to always support the Nigerian Army on their quest for maintaining peaceful coexistence and by extension maintain the unity and integrity of Nigeria.
One of the woman that benefitted from the gesture of the Ag. GOC Monica Hada says the provision of portable water by will go a long way in bringing an end to the scarcity of water they have been through for long.
She however called on well meaning senior officers to emulate the kind gesture of General Bello Mohammed by sinking more boreholes in almost all the corners within the barracks so that what they went through wont resurface again.
Hada, assured the General Officer Commanding 3 Division of maintaining the projects and will do everything possible support the mission of Nigerian Army for making Nigeria intact.
Correspondent reports that the beneficiaries at the 23 Brigade Command Yola could not hide their joy as they were captured singing and dancing for the Ag GOC as a sign of appreciation.
