The Borno State Sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has embarked on sensitization of commercial drivers on road safety to commemorate the West African Road Safety Organisation Day (WARSO).
The event took the sector personnel under the leadership of Deputy Corps Commander N.A Ibukilebu to Baga Road motor park where drivers are lectured on road safety, traffic rules and regulations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Corps Commander who gave the history of the week, said the occasion is always used by the corps to enhance its activities of sensitizing road users on safety on the highway.
Speaking during the safety campaign in Baga Central Motor Park, the Chairman of the park, Alhaji Goni Kundiri, lauded FRSC for its commitment to safety on the highways and assured his members support.
Kundiri who particularly commended the Borno Sector Commander on the matured and professional conduct of its personnel, said his administration would work towards sustaining the tempo.
He however complained over the conducts of a patrol team along the Maiduguri – Damaturu road in neighbouring Yobe State and urged the Borno Command to intervene in addressing the issue.
