The Borno Command of the Federal Road Safery Corps (FRSC) has assured the Nigerian Army of sustain support and collaboration in area of security in Borno State.
The Borno Sector Commander, Sanusi Ibrahim, made this known Monday in Maiduguri while welcoming the newly appointed Garrison Commander of 7 Division, Maiduguri, Col. AGL Haruna, who paid him a familiarization visit.
Ibrahim said the FRSC has been enjoying a smooth working relationship with the military and would continue on the already established synergy.
“I wish to commend the resilience, efforts, sacrifice and gallantry of the Nigerian Army in combating insurgency and banditry in the country and pray for your protection and success.
“On our part, we will continue to collaborate with you especially in the area of intelligence sharing as it is a known fact that our officers and men are on the highways, as such whatever we see or hear that requires your attention, we will not hesitate to relay the message to you,” Ibrahim said.
He raised concern over the attitude of some military men, particularly in mufti who used to violate traffic rules with impunity and urged the commander to take action against such personnel.
In his remarks, the Garrison Commander, Col. AGL Haruna, lauded the existing synergy between the Army and FRSC and assured the Corps of sustainability.
Haruna urged the FRSC not to hesitate in drawing the attention of the army any time the need arises for prompt response.
