The Borno Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has deployed 600 Regular and Special Marshals in Maiduguri and its environs to ensure free flow of traffic and accident-free Eid-el- Kabir celebration.
The Sector Commander, Mr Sanusi Ibrahim, made this known Wednesday in a statement made available to newsmen in Maiduguri on Wednesday.
Ibrahim said the personnel would also ensure motorists comply with COVID-19 safety measures such as physical/social distancing and wearing of face masks.
He said that some areas known for gridlock in the state capital had been identified for special attention.
Ibrahim listed the areas to include Ramat Square, Dandal Roundabout, Bolori Roundabout, Government House Roundabout, Maduganari Bypass, Post Office Area and Monday Market Area.
“The Command will also use some operational strategy such as mobile and static patrol, foot team patrol, traffic control and calming for the exercise,” he said.
The Sector Commander appealed for maximum support from motorists by being law-abiding and respecting all traffic rules and regulations as well as COVID-19 protocol during and after the celebration.
