Eid El Fitr: Gov. Fintiri emphasizes need for peaceful coexistence

Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence inline with the lesson of Ramadan.

Fintiri made the call in his Sallah message to the people of the state to mark the Eid El Fitr celebration.

The message signed by his Director, Media and Communications, Mr Solomon Kumangar, urged the people to allow lessons of Ramadan guide their actions.

The governor who prayed for peaceful celebration, urged the public to be on alert as they celebrate and to report any suspicious movement to security agents.

Meanwhile, the Eid prayer in Yola town and other parts of the state had been peaceful.

At the Yola Eid ground attended by the governor and Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Barkindo Mustafa, tight security was put in place with motorists directed to park 100 meters away from the Eid ground.

The Adamawa Police Command in a statement by its spokesman, DSP Suleiman Yahaya, said the command in collaboration with other security agencies had put adequate security measures to ensure hitch free celebration across the state.

As at the time of filing this report, a mini Durba is taking place at the Lamido of Adamawa palace as part of activities line up for festive period.
