The distribution of forms to beneficiaries of Federal Government Special Public Work (SPW) programme has commenced in Adamawa State.
Presenting the forms to some District Heads in Mubi Emirate for onwards distribution to beneficiaries in their areas at a ceremony in Mubi, a member of the State Selection Committee, Sahabo Jauro, said the 5000 forms presented were for beneficiaries in Mubi North, Mubi South, Maiha, Michika and Madagali Local Government Areas that constituted Mubi Zone.
Sahabo explained that each local government got 1000 forms each for the beneficiaries mostly from rural areas that would be entitle to monthly stipend of N20,000 each.
Sahabo who urged the traditional rulers to ensure that the forms reach the intended beneficiaries in their communities, said he had followed due process by briefing Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of the development, and that the governor was appreciative of the FG programme to empower the people at the grassroots.
Speaking at the occassion, the Emir of Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu lauded FG for the programme, and assured the traditional rulers commitment to ensure it success.
The emir represented by the Madakin Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Wambai, tasked those to benefit from the programme to make maximum use of the opportunity to better their lives.
The SPW programme under the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment is to benefit 774,000 Nigerians for three months starting from October.
The beneficiaries would be engage in areas of road construction, urban and rural sanitation, health extension and other services.
