
Zulum visit to patients in hospital
As part of activities to commemorate Democracy Day in Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum is to commission 20 road projects executed by his administration.
A statement from the Government House Press Unit in Maiduguri on Thursday, said the Governor would also flag-off the construction of two new hospitals – a General Hospital and Borno Orthopaedic Hospital sited in Jere area of the metropolis.
Also to be flag-off in the Jere axis of the metropolis is an international conference hall project.
Zulum, who started his activities for the day at the early hours of 5.00am by visiting hospitals in the city, started with the Specialist Hospital Maiduguri where he interacted with patients and supported them with cash gifts.
“The Governor donated N50,000 cash to each patient in the Gynaecology, antenatal, postnatal and gynae emergency wards.
“Interacting with the patients, Zulum re-echoed his commitment towards providing improved healthcare services to the people of Borno.
“Governor Zulum also visited the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, providing the same gestures to support the ill people, meeting their medical bills,” the statement added.
It noted that within the six years of Zulum administration, over 1,000 projects have been executed in areas of education, healthcare, agriculture, road networks, water and environment among others.
