Dangote group, Folio media academy trains 60 practitioners on convergence journalism in north east

Sixty (60) practicing journalists drawn from the North Eastern states are participating in a capacity building training on convergence and multimedia journalism .

The three (3) day critical media practical training organised by the Dangote group of companies in partnership with the Folio Media Creative Academy holding at King Daken Diplomatic Suites in Yola, the Adamawa state capital.

In his welcome address, Cooperative Media Officer of the Dangote group, Mallam Jibril Abubakar expressed gratitude to the invited participants for honouring their invitation noting that the training is conceived by the company to upgrade the professional capacity of the journalists.

Abubakar said the exercise is another widow of improving online media production and journalists entrepreneur as a strategy to strengthen relationship with the media.

“As part of the Dangote group cooperate social responsibility,the idea was conceived to broaden the knowledge of our esteemed journalists in the country on global trends in convergence journalism”.Abubakar maintained.

Delivering his keynote speech,Project Coordinator of the Folio Academy, Mr.Pius Alabi stressed that the training was carefully crafted to equip media practitioners on innovative approaches in executing their professional calling.

Alabi charged participants to be attentive with a view to change better than they were met so that flow of information devoid of fake news can be attained.
